Traveling around campus
FIU has multiple modes of transportation across campus, so you can move, roam, dine, and study with ease.
Parking is included in the cost of tuition for students. If you plan on parking your car on campus, please register your car when you arrive to campus and you will be able to park in any designated student spot.
The shuttle service between MMC and BBC is $2.50 each way (you must have your student ID!). Cats Shuttle provides service between MMC and the Engineering Center. The Panther Mover offers free service across MMC between certain buildings and certain parking garages.
Safety comes first
FIU Housing is the safe choice for students moving out of the house for the first time. Security is enforced by not only by 24-7 front desk service and campus police, but also the office of Residence Life, where we work to create a supportive and safe environment for students to learn and live. Keeping students happy and healthy is our top priority.
Campus Police
Florida International University Police Department (FIUPD) is committed to improving the quality of life in a collaborative effort with community members while enforcing state laws and university policies in a professional manner. FIUPD works diligently to prevent and investigate criminal activity, provide for a safe flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and find solutions to the issues that affect our students, our faculty, and our staff
