Please provide your arrival details at least 15 days in advance to the program start date. We need to know when you are arriving so we can confirm your housing and enrollment. Also, we offer free rides from the airport to campus, and you can confirm an airport transfer service with this form. Airport transport is available from Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport.

All students are required to submit arrival details before they depart for the Global First Year.

Arriving before your scheduled move-in date?

Students can arrange private airport transportation and accommodation. Please refer to your Next Steps Guide for a list of hotels and transportation services near FIU. If you are unable to book a hotel due to age requirements, please contact studentservices@globalfiu.com. A room in our designated hotel will be booked at the student’s expense. Charges for incidentals and/or damages are also billed to the student.

 

Are You Arriving Late?

On-Campus Students:
Students unable to arrive to campus by 5:00PM on January 4, 2024 will be required to stay in a program designated hotel and report to campus on the following day. Students will be billed for the cost of the room via a Statement of Fees. Any damages and/or incidentals to the room will be charged to the student as well. Students will be provided free transportation to the hotel and to campus the following day.

Campus Adjacent Housing Students:
Global Resident Assistants will be available to provide the key set for students arriving after 5:00PM on January 4, 2024. Students must have signed their housing agreement prior to getting their keys. Room keys will not be issued to students without a signed agreement.

Students who request late arrival (after January 5) must be approved by David.Lecon@globalfiu.com and must have completed all pre-arrival steps including full program payment (or 60% if on a payment plan).
